Next-Generation Imaging & Speed

First-Ever Partially Stacked Sensor: The a7 V introduces a groundbreaking 33MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor. This partially stacked design drastically increases readout speeds, significantly reducing rolling shutter while delivering a massive 16 stops of dynamic range. Coupled with the new BIONZ XR2 Processor, this camera achieves unparalleled color accuracy and white balance consistency.

Blistering Speed & Pre-Capture: Never miss the decisive moment. The a7 V boasts blackout-free 30 fps continuous shooting with full-time AF/AE. It also features a new Pre-Capture function (configurable from 0.03 to 1.0 seconds) that saves images to the buffer before you even fully press the shutter. A custom Speed Boost button allows you to instantly shift to a higher frame rate mid-burst.

Flexible RAW Options: Choose from Compressed HQ, lossless compressed, or a new lightweight RAW format to optimize storage. For static subjects, the Composite RAW function captures up to 16 sequential frames to produce ultra-clean HDR images with reduced noise at high ISOs.

Flagship AI Autofocus

Borrowing heavily from the a7R V and a9 III, the a7 V features a dedicated AI Processing Unit. The 759-point AF system covers 94% of the sensor and focuses down to -4 EV.

• Human Pose Estimation: The camera tracks body and head positions, predicting movement even if someone crosses in front of your subject.

• Expanded Subject Recognition: Automatically detects and tracks humans, animals, birds (up to 50% faster than the a7 IV), insects, cars, trains, and airplanes without needing to manually switch modes.

Professional Cinema-Quality Video

Built for serious filmmakers, the a7 V utilizes the full width of its sensor to record brilliant 7K-oversampled 4K 60p in 10-bit XAVC HS. Need slow motion? Switch to Super 35 mode for 4K 120p or FHD 240p.

• Advanced Color: Match Sony’s Cinema Line with the acclaimed S-Cinetone profile, or shoot in S-Log3 for 15+ stops of dynamic range. You can also import custom LUTs via Creators’ Cloud for precise on-set monitoring.

• Rock-Steady Footage: The upgraded IBIS system provides up to 7.5 stops of compensation. For active movement, Dynamic Active stabilization adds heavy electronic correction, while Breathing Compensation and the AI-driven Framing Stabilizer keep your shots smooth and perfectly composed.

• Heat Management: A unique Sigma-shaped graphite heatsink ensures extended recording times without overheating.

Redesigned Body, Build & Connectivity

• 4-Axis Multi-Angle LCD: Get the best of both worlds with a 3.2″ touchscreen monitor that combines a tilting mechanism with a side-opening vari-angle design.

• Dual USB-C Ports: Unprecedented flexibility. Use Port 1 (USB 3.2 Gen 2) for rapid 10 Gbps data transfers to external drives, while simultaneously using Port 2 to power the camera or charge the battery.

• Dual Card Slots: Features one CFexpress Type A / SD UHS-II combination slot and one dedicated SD UHS-II slot.

• All-Weather Reliability: Built with a rigid, lightweight magnesium alloy chassis and extensive weather-sealing. The new NP-FZ100 battery efficiency provides up to 750 shots per charge (a 23% improvement over the previous generation).

• Next-Gen Connectivity: Features 5/6 GHz Wi-Fi, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth, and plug-and-play UVC/UAC 4K webcam support for high-end live streaming.
